Method: Standard A-Z

Sort files into directories that are named after the first character in their filename.

  • Place Files Starting with the Following Class of Names into Custom Directories
  • By default, all files are placed into a directory that is named after the first character in their filename, but it is also possible to place files that start with a range of certain characters into custom directories.

    Note

    The \ path separator character can be used to create sub-folders within any of the custom textboxes.


  • Number
  • Any number, from 0 to 9.

  • Punctuation more info
  • Any punctuation mark.

  • Separator more info
  • Any separator; such as a space, line, or paragraph separator.

  • Symbol more info
  • Any currency, letterlike, number forms, mathematical operators and arrows, geometric, technical, braille, and Dingbat symbols.

  • Whitespace more info
  • Any characters typically used as spaces, the line separator character, the paragraph separator, and tabs/carriage return/line feed/no break space.

  • Uppercase
  • Any alphabetical character that is in uppercase.

  • Lowercase
  • Any alphabetical character that is in lowercase.
